Full-time/Permanent (40 hours) - Monday - Friday 0800 - 16.30
SALARY £21,800/Annum

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a number of Assistant Leakage Detection technicians, who want to work in the water industry at entry level and seek to progress. No prior water industry experience will be required, however candidates will have to possess the necessary attitude and methodical approach to their work. The company will provide you with structured training and mentoring, guaranteed career progression and a secure permanent position at the end of your probationary period.
As an Assistant Leakage Detection Technician, you will work alongside experienced Leakage Detection engineers assisting in detecting leaks with both public and private water networks. You will be working outdoors and will be required to carry out a full range of leak detection activities on behalf of our clients to include:
. Detection of leakage using various leak detection methods
. Use of acoustic sounding equipment and technologies
. Carry out valve operations on the water network
. Carry out water pressure checks and installing pressure logging equipment
. Checking flow data and installing loggers on flow meters
. Identifying and resolution of customer side leakage
. Deployment, collection and analysis of flow, pressure, acoustic and hydro loggers
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CHARACTERISTICS
. Desire to enter a career in the water industry, previous engineering studies would be beneficial for this goal
. Professional attitude to work and good interpersonal and communication skills
. Adhere to Management structure and follow all Company Policy,
Procedures and Directions
. Target driven to contribute towards the achievement of contract objectives
. Good numeracy and computer skills to include a familiarity with spreadsheets and mobile applications
. Hold a full current valid clean driving licence
. Ability to cope with the physical nature of the role including entry into confined spaces
. Excellent time management skills, and flexibility in working hours to include some night work
. Be able to work safely and responsibly at all times
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Experience in the following would be beneficial but not essential
. Previous civil or construction site work
. IT experience to include a familiarity with GIS software
. Active farming background used to daily problem solving
. Health & Safety Regulations
