ABOUT THE JOB
This is a unique opportunity to lead on ensuring Police Scotland demonstrates a full commitment to upholding the principles of fair play and the broader theme of equalities.
The successful candidate will provide independent oversight of discrimination cases leading to greater trust and confidence in the discipline and conduct process/outcome amongst under-represented officers and staff.
They will also ensure that a Scottish wide performance picture of the handling of incidents of discrimination is built, taking into consideration any geographical and community representational differences and comparison with the performance of other Police Forces in the UK, the Fair Play Ambassador will also provide an independent internal Third-Party Reporting mechanism for incidents of discrimination or unfair treatment.
ABOUT YOU
You will be educated to Degree level in relevant discipline or a combination of qualifications and relevant experience, alongside significant experience of dealing with equality concerns, with a large focus on BME issues in a large scale or complex organisation or business.
You will have proven experience in delivering change in large scale and complex business environments. On a personal level, you will possess the strength of character to be objective and challenge established thinking, procedures and attitudes and advise on making improvements.
A driving license is desirable.
This full time post is fixed term for 18 months and will require Standard Recruitment Vetting. You will work 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.
