Is your passion supporting primary age children with varied ability levels? Are you looking for an exciting new role within a large, popular and thriving Inner City school? If so, and you can demonstrate that you are passionate about maximising our children’s learning potential, then this role could be for you.
This is an exciting role for the right person to join our large, friendly and incredibly dedicated team of teaching assistants, supporting teaching staff and pupils across our School. We require a qualified and experienced teaching assistant who ideally has recent experience within Foundation, KS1 and KS2 phases with a strong working knowledge of phase curriculums.
You will be assisting with supervision of the pupils in the classroom, in groups and 1:1 when required. There may also be an opportunity for the right person to undertake HLTA duties, covering for teacher’s PPA and management time. We are a Read Write Inc Model School and so there may be opportunities for a suitable candidate to undertake RWInc training.
We are a large 643 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 78 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has recently been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds. We pride ourselves in our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams. We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.
DDAT welcomes a diverse population of both children and staff and is committed to promoting and developing equality of opportunity in all its functions.
DDAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, online checks, completion of a probationary period, pre-employment and Disclosure Barring Service checks. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
We warmly invite prospective candidates to visit the school to find out more about us and the role. To register your interest, call the school office on (01332) 291140 or email jobs@arboretum.derby.sch.uk . Please also take a few minutes to watch our school video on our Welcome page of our website www.arboretum.derby.sch.uk to get a true flavour of Arboretum Primary School.
