South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed, care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex.
We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex. We have 414 beds, having recently added 55 with the opening of a new Nursing home in central Worthing a few months ago, and it’s in this new home, The Poets, that a brand-new Bistro facility will be operating.
Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours – day and night, for long and short-term stays.
This role involves leading the catering proposition from our brand-new Bistro facility.
You will have a friendly nature and be confident in dealing with our residents, visitors and colleagues.
You will be the caring and friendly face of our Bistro, a place where people choose to go to relax and enjoy a drink/snack with their family and friends.
Basic catering knowledge and food hygiene will certainly be beneficial in this role, however for the best candidate, full training will be provided.

Job responsibilities
· To run the new Bistro Café in The Poets Home – providing an enticing offer of hot and cold drinks, including speciality coffees and basic hot/cold snacks.
· To provide a warm, welcoming and friendly environment where people choose to come to relax with friends and family. To engage with everyone who comes into this space, offering help and hospitality – this will include our residents, families, visitors and Directors of SCNH.
· To manage the hygiene, cleaning and safety of the Bistro Café – including all equipment, tables and general environment.
· To adhere to the requirements of essential record keeping, good communication skills are essential for this role; an ability to talk confidently to our clients / guests etc... will be vital.
The ability to engage with some basic skills in stock management, including ensuring proper date rotation controls are in place
