UNITECH ENGINEERING LTD – TRAINEE FITTER / WELDER – RAF-3370
Are you now looking for a new opportunity? If so, Unitech Engineering Ltd based in Burntwood - Staffordshire, are looking for a Trainee Fitter / Welder to join their team. The Company itself, are the leading manufacturers of high-quality stainless steel and aluminium equipment for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and other hygiene conscious industries.
Although previous experience would be advantageous, full training will be given to candidates who show a genuine interest in developing their career further to become an experienced Fitter / Welder.
Role Overview:
Your role will be to train to be a Fitter/Welder of stainless-steel fabrications. Other duties are outlined below:
Main duties will include:
- During and after full training provided you will assist with any shop floor activity required involved during the assembly of a product lifecycle from delivery of materials to finished product ready for despatch
- After training you must be proficient and efficient in using hand tools to complete all metal finishing on a variety and size of products
- After training you will manufacture components to the specified quality and time standards following a pre-set sequence of operations and set up of Centre Lathes; Automatic Lathe (ProTurn); Milling Machine; Ward Capstan.
- After training you will manufacture sheet metal components to the specified quality and time standards following a pre-set sequence of operations. Demonstrate ability to set up and make simple adjustments of the following: Semi-auto-circular saws; horizontal saws; Baileigh Tube Miller; Pedestal Driller; Steel Metalworker; Baileigh Tube Bender.
- After training you will have the ability to operate sheet metal finishing equipment RSA Turnamat and Loweur Deburrer.
- After training you will assist with any product finishing duties including assembly, drilling, sawing and finishing.
- Following your training you will be proficient in TIG Welding.
- Assist with any pre-despatch packaging including completion of any necessary paperwork.
- Assist with any other task as required in line with business needs and as required within your skill set and experience.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Possess some experience of welding thin gauge stainless steel.
- Possess an understanding of engineering drawings.
- Be able to work within a team or on your own initiative.
- Be able to problem solve.
- Have an attention to detail and quality.
- Possess a ‘can do’ attitude.

- Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
- Full time, permanent contract.
- 28 days holiday (inclusive of annual, bank/public days) increasing with service.
- Access to a contributory company pension scheme, employer contribution of 3%.A varied and interesting role within a fast-paced manufacturing supplier within the U.K.
