Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist role at the Havering Early Intervention in Psychosis service.
The post would suit graduate psychologists with a keen interest in mental health and an ability to work collaboratively with carers and service users. You will need to be able to work autonomously and will receive training and support from NELFT EI service and psychologists working with psychosis.
There is an expectation that the individual will have an understanding of mental health issues and the issues facing carers.
The main responsibilities of the post:
- Working with the Early Intervention team to identify, assess and support carers and family members of people experiencing psychosis.
- To undertake other clinical activity with service users, as identified by supervisor and appropriate to grade.
- The post holder will receive line management and supervision from a qualified psychological practitioner. The work with carers will be supported through training and supervision from the family intervention hub.
- The post holder will support their peers and team leader and be an effective team member who is highly motivated and able to work on their own initiative
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum ).
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
