An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and energetic Nursery Nurse to cover for a maternity leave. The successful candidate will have the minimum of a Level 3 childcare qualification (NNEB, BTEC or equivalent), with sound knowledge and understanding of child development and age-related play activities. It is essential that the person has knowledge of EYFS curriculum and assessment practice.
The key responsibilities are to assist the class teacher in the provision of the Foundation and Reception Curriculum. The successful candidate will be amongst other things, primarily responsible for motivating and stimulating children’s learning abilities, including mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play. You will provide an interactive, supportive, safe and secure environment which enables children to learn and grow. There is accountability in the role including observing and recording each child's progress to be discussed with teaching staff and parents to support the continuing learning journey of each child.
You will be caring and nurturing whilst understanding safe working practices and boundaries for working with young children. You will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills with good communication skills both verbal and written.
