We have a new opportunity for someone to join our Public Health directorate. This directorate is a progressive, specialist, multi-disciplinary department, and is committed to improving health and reducing inequalities in West Sussex. This role requires someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex information to a range of audiences.

The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Public Health Strategy Manager, you’ll have a central role in supporting the function of public health policy and strategic planning within the Directorate. A wide and varied role, you’ll focus on several areas of work at once, ensuring they are delivered on time and to a high standard, including supporting the successful delivery of public health programmes and projects, drafting responses to correspondence, minute-taking, and leading the planning and coordinating of events, such as Health and Wellbeing Board seminars.
In this role, you will analyse data and collate information to inform briefings, reports, and presentations.
You will also develop internal and external communications, be responsible for the Public Health social media channels and be involved in health promotion and engagement activities.
About You
You will be reliable, motivated individual, with experience of working in a public health environment, you’ll work well as part of a team, with a hands-on and can-do attitude, providing support flexibly across the team on a wide range of tasks.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and attention to detail, communicating complex information to a range of audiences, adapting where required.
You will need to be able to manage your own workload, working flexibly, multi-tasking and balancing different priorities effectively to meet the needs of the directorate. You’ll be comfortable making decisions and using your own initiative and be able to apply focus when analysing data and preparing reports and presentations.
