About Dogger Bank
Dogger Bank is a major offshore windfarm development, comprising 3 x 1,200MW phases, each with a capital cost of c.£3bn. It is the largest construction project in the SSE Renewables portfolio and is a key, high value project for both SSE Renewables and its co-shareholders, Equinor and Vargronn.
Dogger Bank A and B reached Financial Close in November 2020 and Dogger Bank C reached Financial Close in December 2021. All three phases are being managed by SSE Renewables during the construction phase.
The project team across all three phases will comprise c.200 professionals at its peak during the construction phase, working principally out of the SSE project offices in Glasgow.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Senior Finance and Commercial Analyst/ Commercial Finance Manager to join the Renewables Finance team working exclusively on the Dogger Bank Project. Seconded onto the Dogger Bank project you will report directly into the Dogger Bank Head of Finance. You will be responsible for overall management of all aspects of financial modelling on the project, including updating and maintaining the financial models, delivery of reporting information to the SSER commercial finance team and JV partners to provide updates on financial performance and provide additional insight through reporting and commentary as required. The role will involve working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, focusing on establishing best practice in reporting and processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of all aspects of financial modelling across three projects, including updates required for both internal and external shareholders.
- Delivery of quantitative and qualitative analysis to support the management of Dogger Bank's key contracts, including analysis related to contract variations and claims.
- Producing presentations / communications on project financial and commercial matters for the Board and other senior stakeholders.
- Support the monthly process for drawing down funds from senior lenders and shareholders, including liaising with the Lenders' Technical Adviser to provide information as required to support the requests for funds.
- Collaborating with the wider project team including the project financial control team; and project engineers and commercial team to produce cost reporting and analysis.
- Ad hoc financial and commercial analysis as required to support the management of the project finance debt facilities.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Excellent financial modelling skills, with experience of developing, updating and maintaining financial models, and reporting on the impact of changes.
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial information, understanding key commercial points and present this information to key decision makers.
- Understanding of major projects and related processes, including financing structures and the related requirements.
- Strong understanding of the renewables industry and understanding of the relevant costs and revenue streams.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain financial information to both finance and non-finance personnel; and the ability to coach and develop others.
- Post graduate financial or commercial qualification (part-complete or qualified) is desirable.
In addition to the above you will be a good communicator, professional and diligent, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, whilst never compromising on the quality of your work. You will be flexible, adept at managing expectations and be able to adapt to changing business needs.
