About Us

Formed in 2005 we have a long-standing reputation as a specialist outdoor adventure company; teaching rock climbing, kayaking, mountaineering and more. We have a wide range of courses available and cater for a range of clients from individuals to groups from charity events to, stag/hen, corporate and youth groups.

Job Description

We are looking for a part-time assistant to join our office/shop based in Brighton. You’ll be working alongside a small team including, the company director, operations manager and the shop/social media manager, but you will also need to work on your own as required.

You will be a part of day to day running of the office, dealing with customer enquiries and bookings plus assisting on a range of other duties. It is essential that you have excellent administration and communication skills, as you will also be building relationships with our charitys, corporate event clients and customers.

As a small business, working to multiple deadlines will be imperative to ensure our clients have the best experience and you will be expected to take ownership of various projects. A creative mind is also a distinct advantage and if you’re keen to come up with new ideas then we will help and support you in this.

Required Skills

· Excellent office administration and organisation skills.

· Skilled in computers (ideally Macs), Word, Excel, Internet and emails.

· Excellent communication skills, dealing with customers / corporate clients / booking agents.

· A green and environmentally friendly ethos with a love for the outdoors.

Additional Roles

· Assist with writing our monthly newsletters.

· Assist with marketing products / courses / events.

· Assist with social media campaigns.

· Assist with the development of new areas of the business; products / charity events / corporate events / trips away / schools groups / overseas trips.

Distinct Advantage

· Leisure and tourism experience.

· Retail experience (ideally with both on-line and physical shop experience).

· Working in the outdoor industry.

· Writing copy for the website (no programming required).

Training / Courses

You will be able to attend all of our courses free of charge or at cost price this includes rock climbing, kayaking and even in to the instructing side of things should your ability suit this.

We will also help with any third-party job specific training where relevant to your work.

Pay

£10.18 - £11.00 per hour depending on experience. Pay is reviewed yearly depending on performance and growth of the business.

Hours

Ideally we are looking for someone 2/3 full days a week, however this could be split over shorter days to fit in around other working commitments.

During the main season (Mar-Oct) we are at our busiest, therefore staff are expected to work around each others availability.
