We are seeking an Exhibitions & Projects Coordinator to provide support to the Ashmolean Exhibitions team by assisting with all stages of development and preparation of the temporary exhibitions and displays, and providing general support for all projects managed by the Major Projects & Exhibitions Department as required.
You will be highly organised and a good communicator, as the role involves working in a busy team and with colleagues across the Ashmolean and in other museums, as well as external contractors and stakeholders. The role requires excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple exhibitions and displays at once.
You must have initiative, a proactive approach, and be practically minded. A degree or equivalent experience / qualification is required, along with knowledge and understanding of museum or gallery displays. Ideally, you would also have knowledge of exhibition design, museum collections management systems, and project management experience.
This job includes duties that will require additional security pre-employment checks: A satisfactory basic Disclosure and Barring Service check due to handling of high value collection items. Please note that this post is also subject to checks necessary for the successful post holder to have known consignor status. You will therefore be required to provide employment and/or education history going back for a full 5 years in your application.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 36.5 hours per week.
