Looking for a role that combines data analysis and reporting with developing psychological therapy experience and skills? We are a leading London NHS Talking Therapies (IAPT) service, looking to recruit an Assistant Psychologist/Research Assistant to help us make the most of our extensive activity and outcomes data. We want you to use your interest in client outcomes, your extensive data analysis and presentation experience, and your influencing skills to help us improve our service.
You will provide real-time information about therapist activity and client outcomes to clinicians, supervisors and service managers in order to improve service performance. You will support and lead audits into specific areas of interest.
You will also receive training and supervision to develop your clinical experience by assessing clients and providing a range of step 2 interventions to clients with common mental health problems.
- Collect data from electronic patient records to provide reports about therapist activity and client outcomes to clinicians, supervisors and service managers
- set up data collection and reporting around outcomes in areas of interest and conduct clinical audits
- Assess new clients and with training provide step 2 interventions to clients with anxiety and/or depression

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collect data from patient electronic records (Iaptus) and populate and manage the service database of discharged clients;
2. Ensure that discharges follow the appropriate care pathway, and that key data items have been completed correctly.
3. Undertake initial telephone assessment (triage) of new clients, recording the assessments and making decisions (with clinical supervision) on the clients’ treatment pathway
4. Provide accessible reports identifying patterns and trends
5. Manage database on clinicians’ activity in relation to targets (‘scores on the doors’), send monthly and quarterly reports to clinicians and supervisors, and an annual summary for appraisal. Respond to enquiries from clinicians.
6. Produce adhoc reports on request e.g. clients with repeated Silvercloud episodes, outcomes of Spanish-speaking clients, languages used
7. Provide support, on an adhoc basis, to audit projects e.g. BAME client access, outcomes for clients treated for PTSD
8. Monitor changes on IAPTUS system and provide update/reports to service managers on changes needed to data recording policy.
9. Assist therapists in designing spreadsheets and reporting arrangements.
10. Over time and with appropriate training and supervision, providing step 2 treatment for clients, starting with supported on-line therapy (Silvercloud) and progressing to Guided Self-Help.
11. Playing an active part in Step 2 team, through service meetings, skills training and team social events.
