About the Finance & Accounting department
The Department of Finance and Accounting at the University of Exeter Business School (Winner of THE 2022 Business School of the Year Award) is research-oriented and devoted to teaching excellence. Newly formed in 2019, the Department is committed to producing world-class research with economic and societal impact, and to delivering research-led, engaging education that helps students attain the highest standards, and realise their potential to make an impact on the world. We are committed to advancing theory and working with leaders and managers in organisations to achieve practical solutions to their most important issues.
Staff members have recently published in journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Management Science, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.

The role
The post of Lecturer in Finance and Accounting will contribute to extending the research profile of Finance and Accounting at Exeter.
We are seeking talented academics with expertise in one or more of the following areas: financial economics, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues, sustainable and responsible investments, corporate governance, asset pricing, corporate disclosure, climate finance, and banking.
We also look for those who have a strong record of accomplishment in innovative research, as well as a passion for inter-disciplinary teaching, and who have the necessary skills to conduct high-quality research and teach a range of courses in the Business School's undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.
About you
For a Lecturer post you will have:
- A PhD or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or quantitative subjects such as Data Science and Statistics, and have an independent, internationally-recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research
- A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding
- An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research
- Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes
- Strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners
- Involvement in projects which develop impact.
