Rolls-Royce has an exciting opportunity for a Project Planner to join our Submarines business in Derby on a high-profile, long-term and demanding programme of work.
Our Submarines business is responsible for the design, manufacture, supply and through-life support of nuclear propulsion-related products and systems in support of the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet.
Following the Secretary of State’s announcement to parliament regarding a defect on the reactor installed in the Shore Test Facility, we are seeking to recruit a Project Planner to help manage the programme delivering the Post Irradiation Examination (PIE) capability required to inspect key components from the reactor.
This role will form part of the Irradiated Fuel Management (IFM) programme in the Services Delivery Business Unit (DBU), tasked with delivering all the necessary outputs that will ensure fleet operations are not disrupted.

What you will be doing:
- Manage work package project schedule and integrate with PIE Integrated Master Schedule, including obtaining status updates from project controllers with Rolls-Royce Submarines and in the National Nuclear Laboratory and update schedule accordingly.
- Support Schedule Risk Analysis of internal and external supplier schedules
- Support the technical, project and programme management teams with timely metrics and project reports as well as managing the schedule baseline, as required to allow control of the project to be maintained.
- Support provision of Earned Value Management (EVM) data for the projects and programme.
- Work with internal and external suppliers to establish new schedules to support bid activities and scope changes.

- Project Planning experience (Primavera P6/ SAP / Excel)
- Engineering Background and experience managing engineering projects
- Experience with using SAP and expertise with MS Excel.
- Ability to communicate clearly (oral and written) with customers and suppliers, with established presentation skills and a desire to work increasingly independently of direct supervision and using personal judgement to deliver your responsibilities.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a minimum of an Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
