Overview:

Senior Business Analyst | Hybrid Working with Glasgow or Dundee base location | £41642 - £49860 + £5000 DDaT Pay Supplement after 3 month qualifying period | Full or Part Time Hours | Flexi-time | 25 Days annual leave (increasing to 30 after 4 years’ service) plus 11.5 Public and Privilege | Contributory Pension Scheme (employee contributions 5.45% employer contributions 27.1 - 27.9%) |

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to work across a number of specialisms and support the exciting and transformational goals of Social Security Scotland.

The Business Analysis team sits within the Service Management and Service Development branch which is responsible for the maintenance and further development of the live benefit services being delivered to clients. Our Business and Systems analysis practice will continually respond and support emerging business requirements whilst providing technical analysis of our various digital platforms.

We are a growing team of over 30 analysts from a variety of backgrounds and individuals joining now have the opportunity to help shape and develop our practice and ways of working.

DDaT
Pay Supplement

This post attracts a £5000 Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement after a 3 months DDaT competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role and paid alongside your monthly salary.

Pay supplements are temporary payments designed to address recruitment and retention issues caused by market pressures and are subject to regular review. This post is part of the Scottish Government DDaT profession.

As a member of the profession you will join the professional development system, currently BCS RoleModelplus.

Flexible and Hybrid Working

Our current way of working is by a hybrid working approach, where colleagues will be expected to use a mix of office based and remote working (working from home) depending on the requirements of the role. Base office location can be in either Dundee or Glasgow.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Business Analyst you will be responsible for the definition and investigation of operational needs, assisting in service improvement recommendations and business solutions. You will already have a good understanding of strategic arenas and have experience of leading large and complex projects.
  • Planning and leading large areas of Business Analysis delivery, owning the challenge and driving through to conclusions.
  • Investigating operational and business needs and problems , providing service improvement recommendations and business solutions.
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders to build strong working relationships.
  • Delivering business analysis products (documentation) in accordance with project requirements, including pre- and post-project work such as contributing to impact analysis and benefits management.
  • Building and maintaining a deep understanding and awareness of Social Security Scotland operations function and helping stakeholders to explore technology and process improvements that will allow them to more effectively execute their roles.
  • Supporting project teams during all phases of the project delivery lifecycle including performing and advising on acceptance testing and preparing and delivering training and handover material.
  • Technical analysis in order to work with ITC colleagues in the design of system solutions that meet, for example, policy, legislative, corrective or enhancement change requirements.
  • Providing leadership and mentoring to a small team of Junior Business Analysts.

4. Experience of working within an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment, and ability to deliver iterative design components (including user journeys) to the development team.
