The Blood Sciences department of the Queens Hospital Burton site within Derbyshire Pathology are introducing a new role of an Associate Practitioner to work flexibly across the disciplines of Haematology/Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry.
Our modern laboratories run a busy 24/7 service and are well equipped with a Sysmex XN series analysers and track, Starrsed RS ESR analyser and Werfen ACL TOP analysers in Haematology & Coagulation; Roche Cobas 8000 analysers, TOSOH G11, Advanced Instrument Osmometer and a PVT pre analytics module in Biochemistry and Ortho Visions in Blood Transfusion.
You will become part of an AP team across Blood Sciences to assist with day-to-day duties in those areas dependent on service need. This is an exciting opportunity to gain a wealth of experience and knowledge, whilst demonstrating your adaptable and reliable nature.
The candidate will be expected to participate in 24/7 shift working including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Ideally candidates should have a Foundation degree in Science (Skill level 5), IBMS Certificate of Achievement Part I & II or an equivalent qualification. However, consideration will be given to candidates working towards a relevant qualification.
