About the role
This is an exciting role in the communities section of Macmillan’s communications and engagement team. No two days will be the same - one day you could be supporting a story about a local Macmillan service and encouraging people to get help and support via impactful print, online and broadcast coverage, and the next you could be speaking to a person who is fundraising for Macmillan by running a marathon every day for a year.
You will work closely with lots of stakeholders and teams across the organisation, with a focus on driving awareness of Macmillan’s work locally. You will identify cross-channel communications opportunities and will also respond to reactive media enquiries, supporting senior members of the organisation to identify, prevent and manage reputation issues for Macmillan.
About you
- You will have demonstrable experience of devising and delivering creative and impactful communications activity and gaining media coverage.
- You will have great interpersonal skills, with experience of building positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and journalists.
- You’ll also have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to think creatively and to manage multiple projects to agreed deadlines.
