The Position
Junior Production Planner
Job Summary
Junior Production Planner
Location: Par Drying and Milling Centre Office, Par Harbour, Par, Cornwall, PL24 2BP
Salary: £24,305
Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week, working Monday to Friday 8pm – 4pm
The Junior Production Planner role is a development role towards the role of Production Planner. The development phase will be no less than 2 years - progress will be monitored throughout.
The Junior Production Planner would be expected to gain all necessary knowledge of the sites they support and this would require regular site visits together with visits to touchpoint departments (Logistics etc).
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Consolidate and monitor demand for secondary operation plants as directed
Check demand level vs capacity for these sites using SAP (ERP System) data together with other market information.
Using SAP to prepare a daily production plan by material for a rolling 4-6 week period depending on the plant
Coordinate with the logistics team on planned inventory availability.
Assist in ensuring that stock targets are achieved
Where necessary coordinate with product management on production priorities where a conflict or shortage exists
Where appropriate liaise with external suppliers for purchased minerals to agree on demand/check their capacity
Extending the functionality of SAP to encompass Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) and other related SAP functions
Other tasks as directed by the Supply Chain Manager
The role also encompasses an element of project management
Maintaining spreadsheet data which is live data and visible to others
