The Defence School of Communication and Information Systems (DSCIS) located at Blandford Camp, Dorset, delivers Information Technology (IT) and Communications Information Systems (CIS) training to Defence personnel.
We have vacancies for IT, ICT trainers or technicians to deliver training to future Defence IT/ICT professionals.
We are particularly interested in candidates from a telecommunications cabling background.
We have a vacancy in the following technical area:
Communications Infrastructure Engineer (CIE) - The successful candidate may be expected to Work At Height and in Confined Spaces, in both internal, external, overhead and underground environments, they will have the opportunity to specialise in a number of topics which include, Project Management, Installation Design, Fibre Optics & Ethernet cabling, Cable Management Systems and other safety topics including Power Tools and Ladder systems. They will work as a member of Cable Systems Department, which is a small team of instructors who deliver bespoke training to Tri-Service and MOD personnel; all aspects of training are borne from the Royal Signals CIE trade group, elements of training are accredited to BTEC, CNET, Defence Awarding Organisation (DAO), and PASMA awarding bodies. Candidates applying for this post must have a minimum of five years’ experience in Telecommunications cabling applications.

New entrants to MoD Civil Service are subject to satisfactory completion of six-month probation period.
