Do you have great administrative and typing skills, being fast and accurate and able to audio type then our Pathology department is looking for you!
You will provide a high quality clinical admin service to a team of consultants supporting the Senior Patient Pathway Coordinator (SPPC) and other pathology management team.
You will be responsible for typing clinic letters, reports and other clinical correspondence in line with the Trust’s contractual key performance indicators (KPIs).
You will follow standard operating procedures for typing, which describe how the functions of the role will be carried out along with given timescales and KPIs.
To work as part of a team providing cover for colleagues during sickness and annual leave, where appropriate, across the directorate.

Assist in the provision of a comprehensive typing and secretarial service within the department including typing clinical and general correspondence, opening the mail, answering the telephone, etc to support team members.
Comprehensive use of in-house patient information systems to check information on patients, outpatient appointments and results.
Input data into a computerised patient database systems and access them to enquire of patients details.
Filing letters and reports into patient medical notes.
Electronically track patients notes in and out of the department/area.
Prioritise workload in conjunction with the team and line manager.
Provide cover for absent colleagues within the secretariat during annual leave and unplanned absences if the need arises.
Contribute to a health and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and Trust policies.
Any other duties appropriate to the grade of this post.
