We have an oopportunity to join our busy Policy and Strategy team working with the senior leadership team, administration, elected Councillors and partners across the city and beyond, to shape and coordinate the council’s strategic approach to policy, strategy and public affairs.
Working across a range of issues including inclusive growth, sustainability and net zero, health and wellbeing and housing, the Senior Policy, Strategy and Public Affairs Officer provides corporate strategic planning services and plays a key role producing corporate policy and strategy products.
This permanent role maintains the council’s library of policies and strategies, working with a network of operational and technical leads around the council to ensure there is a full suite of fit-for-purpose policies and strategies.
Our team deliver a range of public affairs activity throughout the year, including central Government and parliamentary engagement, and also help contribute to updates of the council’s overarching Corporate Strategy and annual Business Plan.
In collaboration with colleagues in other council teams, this role will also hold responsibility for coordinating strong corporate funding bids as part of a prioritised work programme.
