MidKent College is at the heart of the education sector in South East England, and a College which Ofsted recognised as Good for overall effectiveness, in a November 2018 inspection.

As a progressive student-centred College, we are now looking for two Progress and Performance Tutors.

Details of the role

We are looking for individuals who are knowledgeable and passionate about delivering personal, social and health education and employability skills to young people aged 16 years+

We would love to hear from you if you are excited to work with young people and passionate and knowledgeable discussing safeguarding topics such as healthy relationships, online safety, Prevent, British Values, through to CV workshops and work ready interviews.

The Progress and Performance tutor (PPT) is a student facing focused role delivering high quality group tutorials alongside individual 1-1 welfare support and guidance. It is a first line of support for students, and the PPT has responsibility to signpost students to the wider welfare and safeguarding teams as necessary.

We are looking for individuals who enjoy working in a paced environment, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail and works well within a large team.

Job Requirements

Working hours are 37 hours a week, term time only, working 40 weeks a year. Role is based across both campus sites with a start date of 21st August 2023.

The ideal candidates will have mimimum level 3 academic or vocational qualification and 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths, as well as experience of teaching/working with a wide range of students with varying needs and abilities, experience of recognising and dealing with student Welfare needs and knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Applications.

Full training, resources and access to support from the advanced practitioners is available for the successful candidates.

Interviews will be held on Friday, 27 June 2023.
