Role
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling all aspects of the department's process to ensure that targets are achieved and products are delivered on time, within budget and meet the required quality standards. Your role is hands-on, so you will be an all-rounder with the ability to roll up your sleeves to support the team to achieve targets.
We seek a Team Leader with operations management experience and great people leadership abilities. You will lead a team of 5 FTE, growing to circa 15 FTE during peak periods.
Responsibilities
- Co-ordinating, planning & managing a team of production operatives on a daily basis to ensure travel cards are produced on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met.
- Consistently meet daily & weekly targets across all areas of production.
- Stock Management for the department, ordering the resources that are required and ensuring stock levels remain adequate.
- Ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating with suppliers.
- Responsible for maintenance, ensuring it is cleaned & cared for in line with manufacturers’ warranties and liaison with relevant key suppliers to maintain equipment efficiency.
- Responsibility for all aspects of quality control within the production team.
- Responsibility for developing the production operatives skills and knowledge, and ensuring production consistency within the team.
- Interviewing, training and motivation of new and existing team members.
- Managing time keeping, attendance and holiday records.
- Reviewing performance, identifying training needs, completing regular 121’s and managing the performance of team members through the performance management process (MAP reviews).
- Collate and analyse data, generate production reports and communicate performance with internal and external stakeholders.
- Seek to continuously improve processes, systems and reduce overall running costs.
- Ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to, reviewed/updated on a regular basis and follow document control procedures
- Proactively resolve internal or external complaints/issues to satisfactory resolution in a timely fashion.
- Act as Incident Manager for the department in the event of a major incident which impacts on production operations
- Conduct regular supplier reviews with critical/key suppliers to ensure organisational resilience and business continuity. Ensure any remedial actions are fully implemented.
- Ensure compliance to required legislation standards (ITSO, ISAMS, ISO 9001, ISO27001, ISO14001 & Health and Safety)
Skills
Essential
- Proven experience in successfully managing an operations team, preferably in a bureau or production environment.
- Understanding of quality standards, data protection and health & safety.
- Experience of reporting on key production metrics.
- PC Literate - with experience of using Word & Excel.
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use of good judgement in stressful situations.
