Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Salary Range £37,831 - £46,100 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,256 per annum
Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available
Fixed Term until 31st March 2025
The implementation of the new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) has resulted in an exciting opportunity to join the Laboratory IT team.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced IT professional or a laboratory scientist or assistant with suitable IT experience, to join our small hospital laboratory team. You will play an important role in the local rollout of the LIMS, contribute to the ongoing national and regional development and implementation of the national LIMS programme, and support the day to day operation of the laboratory.
Ideally you will have experience of supporting IT systems within an NHS laboratory but if not you will have experience of supporting other clinical or non-clinical IT systems in a NHS setting. This post has a high degree of autonomy/self-direction and, you will be responsible for the maintenance, support and development of the multiple information systems used in the laboratory, working with a range of suppliers and our local IT department. As well as your technical expertise, you will have highly developed communication and problem solving skills.
This contract is for a fixed-term until 31st March 2025. The reason for the fixed-term contract is to support the LIMS project. If you wish to apply for this post as a secondment opportunity, you will need to discuss with your line manager before submitting an application.
