Fairfield School of Business (FSB), a private higher education provider, founded in 2006. We are specialising in delivering Business & Management and Health & Social Care Management courses in partnership with Bath Spa University.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver an intensive workshop(s)/ bite size course(s) of Academic English and Academic Skills for students as preparation for their academic programme and throughout their academic journey.
- Deliver English Academic Performance (EAP) materials to students who require additional support in their grasp of English for academic purposes.
- Ensure that students are appropriately supported and provided with timely and constructive guidance for their academic development.
- Accurate and timely record keeping via the LSST Student Management System (SMS).
- Maintaining regular contact with colleagues (Personal Academic Tutor (PAT), Module Leads) to provide feedback on students’ progress.
- Provide training and staff development opportunities in relation to best practices for supporting and assessing academic writing skills.
- When required, refer students to Student Wellbeing team.
- Refer Students as necessary to Educational Guidance Services (EGS).
- Ensuring that all academic policies and processes of LSST and partners Universities are adhered to.
- Maintain own professional development and best practice in supporting students’ academic needs.
- Any other duties appropriate to the role.
Candidate Criteria
- Degree in qualification in English or other relevant qualification
- A Qualification in Applied Linguistics and/or DipTESOL or DELTA (desirable).
- A TEFL-related Certificate with Cambridge or Trinity would be (desirable).
- Experience of EAP in an appropriate HE context.
- Relevant experience of English for academic support
- Experience in guiding and supporting students undertaking academic programmes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload.
- The ability to work well in a team and be collaborative.
- Digital literacy.
- Self-motivation.
- An enthusiastic educator who demonstrates passion in their support of students’ academic development and progression.
