Administrator - Local Services Department
Salary scale: £20,971.60 to £22,104.07 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

The Citizens Advice service is made up of Citizens Advice - the national charity - and a network of around 300 local Citizens Advice members across England and Wales. Citizens Advice Plymouth is part of the network of local Citizens Advice members and offer free, confidential advice to everyone who lives, works, and studies in Plymouth, as well as over the phone to clients across the country.
Our Local Services Department is expanding with the introduction of new projects, and the increase in demand for our existing face-to-face services.
Based at our city centre office in Plymouth, we are looking for two administrators to join our team. If you have great communication skills, a great eye for detail, and excellent administration skills we would love to hear from you.

Local Services Administrator
We have recently secured additional funding to provide administrative support to our local advice services team and support our clients arriving to Cobourg House. The role will be essential to the smooth running of operations within the department.
Administrators work alongside advisers and caseworkers to carry out a range of activities that prepare the client to receive advice. This includes supporting them to know what information to prepare in advance of an appointment, gathering all their paperwork, and completing scanning to their case after they’ve received advice.
Administrators also provide general administrative support such as dealing with incoming and outgoing post, managing text messages, e-signatures, and electronic document upload requests, making referrals, ensuring records are updated in line with policy, and liaising with clients and third parties.
The local advice services administrator role includes greeting clients who attend for appointments and showing them to their interview room. Supporting clients who attend without an appointment at the self-help terminals and offering signposting and referrals advice if necessary.
The role is 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working Monday-Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1630. This role will be based full-time in the office at Cobourg House, 32 Mayflower Street, Plymouth.
Household Support Fund Administrator
This role is to support the Local Services department and help administer the household support fund to the city of Plymouth.
The household support fund has been set up in collaboration with Plymouth City Council to provide financial support across the city. The fund will be supporting households with occupants of pension age, and other households in need and meeting the fund criteria.
You will be a point of contact for the clients, advisers and caseworkers making sure that we capture all the information that is needed to support a fund application. Additionally, you will be responsible for administering fund applications and providing the following provisions: Supermarket vouchers, Fuel top up vouchers, White goods, Household furniture/essential items, Direct energy payments.
You will need to be digitally engaged and have a great eye for detail ensuring that you support the local services department to successfully administer the fund.
The role is 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working Monday-Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1630. On completion of initial training this role will have a hybrid work pattern, a mix of office and home working (with a minimum of 4 days per month in the office).
