We have an exciting opportunity to join our LibraryPlus team as a Saturday Assistant to help deliver a wide range of services and events to the local community. North Northamptonshire Council Libraries are community hubs and our Saturday Assistants are at the heart of the frontline assisting customers with accessing the Library systems, supporting events and dealing with a variety of enquiries. Providing digital support, our Saturday assistants will aid customers with their IT skills, enabling them to self-serve using the NNC website and other online services effectively and confidently.
What will you be doing?
- Provide a first point of customer service for a diverse range of customers and enquiries.
- Assist customers with self-service and other IT systems.
- To support activities and services for the whole community including those for families with children
- To be knowledgeable and effective in the use of a variety of IT systems to:
- Process all sales transactions accurately.
- Enrol new members.
- Be competent in the use of the Library Management System.
- Assist customers with the NNC website and other online services.
- Promote volunteering opportunities.
- Ensure the Quality Standards for Presentation and Behaviour which contribute to the customer care ethos are met at all times
About you
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and people focused Saturday Assistant to join the team at Wellingborough Library. Reporting to the Library Manager you will contribute to delivering an excellent experience to our customers in the local community. This is a role which will require you to work frontline with customers and also with colleagues, volunteers, partner organisations.
As the successful candidate, you will bring:
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills with ability communicate with a wide variety of people
- Confident IT Skills
- Enthusiasm with a flexible, positive attitude
It would also be beneficial for you to have:
- Experience of customer service delivery
- Experience of supporting events
Where & where you will be working:
This role is based at Wellingborough Library. This role will require working Saturdays and candidates will need to be flexible to the business needs of the service. This post requires an ability and willingness to travel to and to work at other libraries within the area if required.
