Support Worker Job Role
The role of a Support Worker is to deliver person- centred support to each individual, promoting independence, and helping to achieve goals and aspirations. We need staff who are reliable, respectful and understand the importance of promoting independence. A typical day involves:
- Assisting service users with their care needs, including helping to administer the right medication and supporting to appointments.
- Teaching essential life skills.
- Completing detailed reports/ documentation.
- Preparing meals which are eaten together in a home environment.
- Assisting with tasks that promote healthy living, including keeping the home clean and tidy.
You could become a member of our friendly team, helping to support our service users with a wide range of activities they like to enjoy such as shopping, cinema, bowling, creative activities and many more! Their needs and wants are at the heart of everything we do. Helping them to achieve their goals provides the greatest sense of reward.
We value our staff team and appreciate the value of providing effective training, development, and wellbeing. With this in mind, you would receive a sufficient induction into your role, getting to know each individual and learning about the roles and responsibilities of the position. Throughout your career, you will have access to an extensive training package, as well as the opportunity to complete a recognised qualification in Health and Social Care. Alongside this, you will receive daily support from an experienced senior management team, offering guidance and support.
