A woman in the Blyth area is looking for a team of committed care workers to help her remain independent at home and to access the local community.
Having undergone major brain surgery due an issue at birth, the client has been diagnosed with PTSD and has problems with her memory as a result. She has varying moods, due to her medical history, and can have times where she is very down and needs a bright cheery indvidual to lift her mood. She has Type 2 diabetes and somebody with experience of supporting clients with this diagnosis would be preferred. She is also asthmatic, has arthritis and glaucoma. The woman is also bowel incontinent and has a catheter. It is essential that the suitable applicant be willing to undertake all training associated with these tasks.
The preferred worker will:

- Have a good sense of humour.
- Be physically able as support is required with moving and handling
- Be able to multitask with a ‘talk whilst you work nature’
The client has a great sense of humour that can be a little dry at times. She enjoys gardening, knitting and all ‘girly things’. She is keen to have somebody who shares similar interests, enjoys shopping and being a ‘lady that lunches’.
Due to frustrations around her health, she can sometimes be a little abrupt in nature. Somebody with a thick skin who does not take things to heart would be an ideal applicant.
The client is a keen animal lover and shares her home with her husband and their three cats. It is essential the successful applicants are comfortable working in a home where animals are present.
There will be medication administration involved in this role and full training will be provided.
A car driver is NOT required for this role.

Rates of Pay: £11.91 per hour
Hours of work:
7 Days per week including evenings and weekends to be shared between 4 carers
- Morning 8:30am – 1 hour – support with morning routine, personal care, dressing, breakfast & domestic support

Lunch 1pm – ½ hour - personal care and lunch

Tea 5pm – ½ hour - prepare evening meal & domestic support (3 x times per week an additional ¾ for bathing support is added to this call)
- Evening 7pm – ¾ hour - support with bedtime routine & domestic support

Enabling – preferably Friday or Monday afternoon – 3 hours (week 1) & 4 hours (week 2)
You will receive 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata per year as part of your employment

Where applicable, full training around moving/handling and medication will be provided. This may be in the form of face to face, online or video training. This is a requirement of the role and must be completed by all employees in a timely fashion.
