Main purpose and Scope
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the CAD Designers role is to create model 3D parts and assemblies and engineering drawings that can be used to build complex transport and storage containers.
Responsibilities
Duties to include but are not limited to:
- Creation of 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Creation of 2D engineering drawings of mechanical parts and assemblies ready for manufacture.
- Ensure accuracy in design in accordance with British and International Standards.
- Attendance at meetings, and some supplier/customer communication will be required.

- Willing to travel within the UK when required.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Ability to create 3D models using either SolidWorks (preferred) or AutoCAD Inventor. Training can be provided.
- Must be able to assist in solving design challenges.
- Must be self-motivated, professional, and able to work efficiently under pressure to tight timescales.
- Be willing to learn about a wide range of materials, products, and processes.
- Have good timekeeping and attendance.
- Experience of stress analysis, manual or FEA, is an advantage.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
