We are looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Healthcare Assistant who has a passion for delivering high quality care within a community setting.
The postholder will be working within the Burgess Hill Primary Care Networks (PCN) community team, based at Hurstpierpoint Health Centre.
The team is made up of community nurses, health care assistants, clinical leads as well as coordinators, administrators, social worker, psychological therapist, mental health practitioner and Age UK community link worker.
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking for a career within healthcare, or an existing Band 2 or 3 Healthcare Assistant who wants to develop their clinical knowledge and practice within the community. Community and healthcare experience is desirable, but not essential as training will be given to develop the skills and knowledge required for this role.
Please note you will need a full drivers license and access to a car for work purposes.
As a healthcare assistant within the community team, you will be visiting patients within their own homes to undertake a variety of clinical skills including: insulin administration, wound care, pressure area care observations, subcutaneous injections and venepuncture.

Skills and personal characteristics needed to join us as a Healthcare Assistant
To be a Healthcare Assistant, you'll need to be:
- caring and kind
- cheerful and friendly
- willing to be hands-on with patients
- willing to do personal care tasks (washing, toileting, etc)
- able to follow instructions and procedures
- able to work in a team but use your own initiative
You'll also need:
- communication skills, including listening
- organisation skills
- observational skills
To work in our PCN teams, you will need to be a car driver with access to a vehicle you can use for work.

Please note that Trainee Healthcare Assistants are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependent on the duration of the training period (see Agenda for Change Annex 21).
