Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHPs, Child Wellbeing Practitioners), Band 5 – Dunstable CAMHS MHST - 2 x Full Time
The new Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England focussing on a whole school approach.
The Dunstable MHST Team is part of a wider integrated schools pathway service in the locality, where the team are working to reduce health inequalities in communities where these are most prominent, working closely with the schools and other external partners addressing their most prominent needs, by implementing whole schools approaches and targeted interventions. We are a team that has been established for two years and are passionate about the work we do and supporting our staff.
The schools are in Dunstable and Houghton Regis and the surrounding areas. You would be joining a comprehensive, and dynamic CAMHS service, delivering a substantial stepped model of care following the needs-led Thrive framework. The post is based at Beech Close Resource Centre in Dunstable but the candidate will work within the schools and there opportunities to work hybridly from home for part of the week.
The post holder will play a key role as members of the new Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs), who will have the responsibility for delivering schools’ overarching approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.
The role will help to develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects and system change with the aim of whole school and whole community approaches to supporting young people’s mental health.
