The Learning & Organisational team aim to empower employees with skills and knowledge and are committed to supporting employees with personal and professional developmental goals. Apprenticeships and other employment schemes help the council to develop a strong workforce to meet the needs of the residents of Swindon now and into the future.
In this important role you will be working with the Learning & Development Manager and the Apprentice Coordinator to provide administrative support with the apprenticeship programme and other employability options across the Council. You will be responsible for communicating with managers and providing advice and guidance on employability schemes, producing and maintaining data and supporting on any adhoc projects, therefore excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate equally effectively with managers, providers and colleagues is a must. You will recognise the value of a team approach to meeting challenges and have the ability to follow instruction as well as work using your own initiative. Flexibility and a sense of humour are essential!
The successful applicant will be provided with the opportunity to achieve a L3 qualification Business and Admin apprenticeship and will have the opportunity to learn alongside our incredibly experienced and highly effective team.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
About you
You will be educated to GCSE standard with English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent qualifications.
In addition, we are also looking for people who have:
- Good IT skills, preferably with experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal
- Good interpersonal skills
- The ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised
- A flexible approach to work
- A passion for learning
- A professional approach and presentable in appearance
