Role: Community Short Breaks Worker – (Play Worker)
Salary: £12.53 per hour
Contract – Permanent – Part Time – 7 hours a week, Daytime Activities, School Holidays and/or weekends.

This is a brand-new service and we are growing a team to work on a part-time basis, more hours will become available once the service is up and running.

A bit about the role

As part of our Ealing based residential children's home Haydock Avenue, we have a new fledgling service running alongside, which is providing community short breaks to children with disabilities and additional needs for children aged 11-19. Our aim is to give every child customised opportunities to have fun, build skills and promote independence at their pace.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
Although experience of working with children and part of a team to support children and young people is desirable, you don't need to have previous qualifications. All we ask is that you have a positive attitude and desire to give the best care to children and young people with an understanding of safeguarding and how to communicate effectively with others.
If you have experience in childcare, baby-sitting, volunteering in a Nursery or Early Years environment, or a Room Leader looking for a new challenge, or you have been looking after a sibling or a child with a learning disability we want to talk to you!

We will give you all the training and support you need to enhance your experience.
You will be supported to make a difference by not only providing personal care, but encouraging the children and young people to access a wide range of activities to meet their individual needs and interests including arts and crafts, sensory play, cooking, team games, outdoor play, enhancing life skills. You will also be engaging, having fun and interacting with children and young people that take part in activities in the local community such as climbing, water sports, go karting and trips to the park.
