Delivery organiser and driver - Sunday and Monday mornings Sugardough Hove
We are looking for a capable and personable driver to join our team in our Hove bakery. Applicants must have a number of years driving experience (minimum 5 years) and must have a clean UK driving licence. You just need a normal car licence. Sunday and Monday mornings 7am until approximately 12/ 1 pm, 8 - 11 hours. This is a permanent position.
The role is to deliver food from our Hove bakery to our Restaurant in The Lanes and our tearooms at the Royal Pavilion along with a varying number of customer deliveries around Brighton and Hove. You need to liaise with the chefs and front of house staff about the deliveries, get the deliveries ready and assist in putting away and organising inward deliveries and the store room. You will also be required to clean the van daily and wash delivery crates. You must be fit, the role includes some heavy lifting and carrying things up and down stairs.
This is not just a driving job you need to be able to communicate and work with the other staff and assess changing demands. You must have excellent written, reading and spoken English and be able to complete necessary paperwork. An interest in food is a big advantage. You will be an integral member of the Sugardough team.
1. You must be energetic, self motivated and dedicated to doing the best job you can;
2. At all times conduct yourself in a professional manner and be very presentable;
3. Maintain a clean UK driver’s licence;
4. Responsible for cleaning and operating a vehicle (below 3.5 tonnes) for delivery duties;
5. Drive responsibly and safely, within the law and always observe speed limits, which are often 20mph in Brighton and Hove;
6. Drive with patience and a polite attitude towards other road users & pedestrians;
7. Complete driving logs and reports (mileage, fuel purchase and other costs incurred while on duty);
8. Follow Sugardough’s processes and systems including all necessary HACCP documents and complete all necessary paperwork;
9. Pack, load, unload deliveries;
10. Be on time for your shift;
11. When not driving/ preparing for deliveries you will perform general duties to assist the kitchen and front of house, generally arranging stock and putting away food deliveries.
