We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team, developing cutting-edge lifting equipment, ensuring efficiency and excellence in design whilst adhering to the company ethos of “Safety Above All”.

The role
The role will focus on assisting the technical department with activities, including:
- Providing engineered innovative solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products.
- Performing mechanical calculations & analysis to ensure the integrity functionality and safety of designs.
- Adhering to design specifications, project requirements and industry standards to produce approval conceptual designs.
- Producing design handover packages including detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs using 2D & 3D Cad software.
- Supporting the manufacturing team to ensure seamless transition from design to production, providing guidance and technical support as needed.
- Reducing manufacturing cost through improved design and consultation with the sales & production departments.
- Compiling & collating technical documentation including manuals, datasheets & certification.
- Staying knowledgeable with industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement of product designs.
The person
Essential requirements
The successful candidate will need:
- Minimum 2:2 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. (Due to graduate or have recently graduated)
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processes
- Good numerical & problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality designs within deadlines.
- Good proficiency using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor ideally) with a flair for design for manufacture.
- Strong competency with basic computer software (Microsoft office)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks.
- High motivation and self-drive with the ability to work independently but also within a collaborative environment.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience within a manufacturing/fabrication environment
- Previous experience with the lifting industry.
The particulars
The position is full time, working from 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday at our office in Draperstown, Co Derry, and will be permanent following a probationary period.
The role may require some travel on occasion to project sites or between our regional and head offices based in Moreton, Wirral.
