The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) is an award-winning charity with more than 23 years’ experience of helping Afghan refugees resettle and integrate into British society. ACAA is the main charity in London, and the only charity with a large unrivalled centre ideal for the delivery of its services, which are focused on supporting Afghans and Central Asians.
Project Summary:
To support 30 refugee girls, aged 11-16 to develop their participation in football every week. The project will enable them to develop football skills and knowledge, participate in games, and socialise in a female-only culturally appropriate ambience. This project will enable refugee girls,11-16, often excluded from mainstream sport, to play football for their physical and psychological health.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Girls Football Project coordinator (henceforth the Project Coordinator) will run the project together with the Football coach. This includes ensuring best practice and, essentially, excellent project delivery for maximum beneficiary value.
- Build partnerships with local Sports clubs, youth centres, schools, colleges, mosques and community groups to develop referral and signposting relationships.
- Outreach and brand exposure is a central part of the role. The Coordinator will conduct and oversee outreach, as well as liaise with outreach officer, external agencies and community centres to publicise the project in West London and recruit participants.
- You will administer data monitoring and evaluation of the project in line with the project requirements including capturing data from participants regularly, assessing progress using different monitoring tools and recording data for evaluation purposes. You will report back to the Director with progress reports and expenditure advice.
- You will recruit qualified sessional female coaches to work with the Project Coordinator deliver the outcomes of the project.
- You will secure the training venue for the project
- You will create publicity materials for the project
- You will invite guest players to visit the project
- You will be responsible for safeguarding at the project delivery level
- Recruiting volunteers
- Fundraising to sustain and expand the project
You will also be creative in planning and implementing activities and/or guest speakers for the football matches, addressing beneficiaries needs, identifying the areas they require support with, and providing them with the necessary support through referring them to relevant organisations for further support.
- The post holder will work together with the coach, under direct supervision from the Director and will collaborate with other ACAA staff.
- Develop productive working relationships with Girls football project team and other staff within the organisation.
- Work productively with other stakeholders (i.e local community groups), maintaining existing relationships across the sector.
Hours: 5 hours a week
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: £400.00 per month
