Children's Support Worker Positions Available; Immediate start.
We specialise in providing care and support to children with Learning Disabilities, Autism and some emotional challenges. Our aim to give them the best quality of life and to recover independence. All homes rated GOOD by OFSTED.
Our home is large and spacious with ample room for our young people to enjoy activates. The home is based in a tree-lined Barnet residential street making it a very peaceful environment for our young people to live in.
We welcome more mature applicants who can bring their life experience to the children we support. Direct experience of this sector is not a requirement. But a CARING disposition is.
The model of support this home uses is Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
Full training will be provided.
Additional languages such as Polish, Gujarati, Hindi and others are helpful.
Purpose of the role:
· To provide safe and stimulating direct support to children.
· To engage and assist children to learn and develop their interests, skills and independence.
· To provide support to individual children as per care plans, risk assessments and any other relevant individual plans
Duties and Responsibilities
1. To deliver of a broad programme of quality, stimulating play opportunities including sports, games, arts, crafts, activities that are fun, creative and offer the children developmental experiences, this will include creative session planning and monitoring.
2. To shift lead sessions as part of the rota if required.
3. To be a key worker allocated as requested, being the family contact in the service and responsible for maintaining accurate up to date records for key children
4. To listen to children, respect their values, beliefs and identity.
5. To support a child introduction into other less specialist settings, this may include working with mainstream clubs and activities to assist them to get to know a child as part of transition.
