Purpose
We are looking for an experienced, committed, and dynamic individual to work with our Head of Education to lead our education service at Feltham Young Offenders Institute.
Our aim at Feltham is to provide a quality and engaging service to young people to help them to achieve the best possible outcomes. Our Education team work with young people to engage them with education provision, to develop them through learning, to increase their self-confidence, improve their wellbeing, and to gain experiences which will improve their employability and their access to opportunities upon their release.
As Deputy Head of Education you will play a key role in providing strategic and operational direction, managing and coaching the Education team with a focus on driving high quality performance and outcomes. You will bring your experience to the role to inform effective strategies for supporting young people with complex needs and barriers.
You will be joining an established team at Feltham, part of the wider Shaw Trust group, who work together to make a positive impact upon the lives of young people. Shaw Trust is one of the largest charities within the UK delivering services in Justice, Youth Services, Health and Wellbeing and Employability.
You will have:
A passion for helping young people reach their potential
Experience of teaching within an alternative education provision
Experience of leading and managing and developing individuals and teams
The ability to motivate and inspire others
