£38,467 per annum - including London Allowance

The Maintenance Supervisor post is a key planning, and supervisory position based predominantly out on site, with a clear emphasis on the quality and performance aspects of the Estates front of house Direct Labour Team (DLT). The post holder will ensure that the Department’s planned preventative and reactive maintenance is delivered in the most effective and efficient manner to meet industry best practice, University requirements and is compliant with the relevant legislation including building codes and H&S standards.
Working alongside the Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical & Electrical) you will motivate, manage, and develop the DLT providing technical guidance and encourage the team to develop and improve problem solving skills.
Regular site audits of all works managed by the Estates department will be part of this role providing structured and objective reports on compliance, quality of work, progress, and completion in relation to required standards. As well as managing maintenance repair works and small projects you will also assist in the development of an appropriate and effective maintenance strategy and Heritage Management plans for the Grade 1 listed estate.
The ideal candidate will have a background of building and structural work and be technically competent in building maintenance through knowledge and understanding of diverse and complex buildings. They will also have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Participation in the Duty Manager rota for dealing with out of normal hours emergencies is an essential part of this role.
