Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Delivery Manager to be responsible for managing a team of Quality Management Leads (QML) who are responsible for ensuring compliance with the quality management systems covering all activities within the scope of the Programme Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT)
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
You’ll work closely with the SCZ functions to ensure that project quality is delivered consistently, safely and efficiently.
Specifically, your key objective is to ensure that project quality is delivered within the SZC Programmes and by the Programme’s supply chain, consistently (safely, efficiently and right first time) compliant with the SZC supply chain project General Quality Assurance Specification (GQAS), ISO9001/19443 and the principles of IAEA GSR2. Quality delivery is considered to be essential to the Project success, from inception to operational handover, respecting Nuclear Safety as paramount at all times.
As well as being accountable to the Programme Director, the Quality Delivery Manager is responsible for complying with processes and procedures defined by the Quality function, which is responsible for defining and maintaining the quality management arrangements for all of SZC. The Quality Delivery Manager will regularly report to the PDO Quality Director through the Senior Manager of Quality Delivery on all aspects of quality management within their Programme including the quality compliance and performance of the contracted supply chain in the Programme
Additionally, you’ll have specific interaction with the manufacturing inspection teams, the site surveillance teams, commercial Supply Chain and with the Document Control and Records team to ensure that a coordinated and collaborative quality delivery strategy is applied for the Programme.
You’ll be a Quality professional ideally with expert knowledge in quality delivery, have significant experience in ensuring compliance with National and International standards such as IAEA GSR2 and ISO 9001/19443.
An understanding of Nuclear Site Licence conditions would be beneficial but is not essential.
You’ll have experience with supervising and managing teams, and the ability to influence and encourage change of behaviours across a wide range of organisational levels.
Large- scale infrastructure project experience would be beneficial.
