DDA International Consulting Ltd (www.ddaconsulting.org) is an international environmental, climate and social governance consulting firm, with a special focus on environmental and social safeguards systems and procedures. We are a small firm, but with an active and growing portfolio of projects for clients such as Multilateral Development Banks, UN organizations and the vertical climate funds.
The Role:
We are looking for an environmental and social policy research intern to join our team for 6 weeks with possible extension. We are looking at this internship as a way to recruit a future full-time team member for an entry-level position.
The intern will work closely with the team on research tasks for actors in the international development space.
Tasks may include:
- Research on Multilateral Financial Institutions’ policies regarding sustainability and safeguards
- Supporting benchmarking exercises for various clients by contributing to research
- Input to recommendations on client’s approaches to environmental and social safeguards
- Support the identification of new business opportunities and proposal writing
- Support with report writing
- Support or lead aspects of marketing activities depending on candidates’ experience

Requirements:
Please note: As the role is 100% remote, access to your own computer and internet connection is essential.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes and skills:
- Driven and able to work independently
- Ability to delivery work to deadlines
- Clear communication on timing of and issues with assignments
- Excellent written communication skills
- Excellent research skills
- Very good time management skills
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office
The following qualifications and experience are required:
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree OR in the final year of a degree in social sciences, economics, environmental studies, sustainability, environmental engineering etc.
- Previous work experience in consulting, policy research, public affairs, or a similar field is highly desired
- Excellent written and spoken English, additional languages are a plus
- Applicants must be resident in the UK and have the right to live and work in the UK (must be able to provide proof)

- Candidates who pass the CV stage will be asked to respond to a written task that aims to highlight the applicants’ research and communication skills. You will have three days to complete the exercise but should spend no more than 2-3h on it. Submissions will be due by 31 May 2023 at 5 PM UK time.
- Finally, interviews will take place on 5 and 6 June 2023.
Only candidates successful in the CV stage will be contacted by Friday 26 May 2023 to allow them to plan for the work on the written task.
