Role Outline/ Responsibilities
We currently have an opportunity for a Graduate Process Engineer to join our office based in Aberdeen.
Within the Process department the Graduate Process Engineer will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, for example:
- Process Design Packages (PDP), Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) and detailed design projects for onshore/offshore facilities supporting both traditional and new energy projects
- Detailed design of modification works for expansions and performance improvements
- Projects to bring top tier COMAH operating sites into compliance with current environmental legislation
- Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed design of plants using cutting edge technology bringing solutions to the problems the world faces today
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Involvement in all stages of projects from, Conceptual, Front End, Detailed design through to construction.
- Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems
- Identification of risks in the workplace, site and design work being undertaken.
- Compiling, checking reports, datasheets, calculations simulations and drawings
- Considering the environmental, commercial, safety and operational aspects of design.
- Use of software packages for Mass & Energy Balances, Equipment sizing, Environmental releases and safety cases;
- Managing change, as the client may change his or her mind about the design, and identifying, formalising and notifying relevant parties of changes in the project;
- Communicating and liaising with colleagues, subcontractors, vendors and clients
- Contributing to the management of budgets, schedule and quality of projects.
- Presentation of work in both formal and informal settings to colleagues, clients and third parties
Technical Specifications
- You will be in your final year of study of an accredited degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) or have graduated within the past 2 years
- You will be looking to achieve registration as a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in the coming 5 years following your graduation
- The ability to produce well-presented and easy to understand reports
- Evidence of numerical ability and computer software skills
- The drive and motivation to become a Chartered Engineer
- Relevant work experience in field is desirable
