We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Trainee to join our team within Countryside Partnerships London South covering sites across the region. As our Construction Trainee you will be responsible for assisting with and gaining experience of the successful delivery of the project in terms of health, safety and environmental standards, programme, budget, time, quality, design, technical and customer service. To effectively help to control and learn about all site based activities in line with specific development requirements, company policies and procedures.

More about the Construction Trainee role…
-
Responsible for supporting construction projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. Providing assistance to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the information relating to the contract, i.e. drawings, specifications, details, Local Authority/NHBC requirements ad manufacturers’ recommendations. High attention to detail required.

Supporting the management of the project, ensuring that the client’s specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor costs. Good project management and communication skills, monitor progress in accordance with the current programme. Use problem solving skills to reach resolutions.

Learn about and undertake programme call off and delivery of all materials in accordance with the current build programme and as instructed by the Site Manager.

Ensure checks on quality and quantity of all deliveries of materials are carried out. Update and collate subcontractor and material call off charts within site office.

Learn how to follow up with the Buying Department on any errors, omissions or substandard materials as requested by the Site Manager. Monitor delivery dates, i.e. call off periods for all materials and advises accordingly to comply with the current build programme

Support the Site Management team with coordination of works with utility companies to enable mains and services to be constructed and handed over in accordance with the current build programme and services / mains are called off in agreed timescales.

Work towards delivering tool box talks regarding site safety to sub contractors and employees with regard to construction, design regulations and regular revisions of same.

Ensure that all matters in connection with Health, Safety and Welfare are adhered to, including the up keeping of all registers and statutory requirements, i.e. scaffold, deep excavation, lifting appliances, shared welfare.

Ensure that site presentation is in accordance with Countryside’s high standards, particularly at weekends, internally and externally.

Provide access to properties for sales purposes as and when required by arrangement with sales negotiators for weekend inspections by potential purchasers. Liaise with sales negotiators at the beginning of each week to discuss sales’ requirements, variations/options etc.

Ensure that all properties are completed to the highest quality and follow the company handover process. Carry out snagging of properties in line with Countryside standards and timescales of the project.

Liase with customers and clients in a professional manner to ensure we deliver 5 star customer journey

Attend college and complete NVQ/Apprenticeship/Degree as appropriate

Understand the roles of different departmental functions within the business.

Understand and help deliver the project in accordance with current waste strategy.
