Mobile Technician
An opportunity has arisen for a Mobile Technician within the Wheelchair, Delivery, Repair and Refurbishment Service (WDRRS). The service is based at the Community Equipment Service Store, Peffermill, Edinburgh, and is part of the SMART (Southeast Mobility and Rehabilitation Technology) Services, Astley Ainslie Hospital, Edinburgh. The SMART Centre (www.smart.scot.nhs.uk) provides highly specialised clinical rehabilitation technology services, including the Wheelchair and Seating Service, across the southeast of Scotland.
The post holder will undertake repairs and maintenance of manual and powered wheelchairs and children’s buggies. The post holder will also provide cover for other members of the service, such as the stores and workshop staff, as required.
The post holder will work to the service’s standard operating procedures and NHS Lothian’s policies and procedures including all Health & Safety requirements.
This is a permanent post for 37.5 hour per week over 5 days.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
