Purchasing and Import Manager to join their passionate and dedicated team.

You will be responsible for the management, maintenance and development of the purchasing and imports team, most importantly the strategy behind it moving forward. This strategy should provide the organisation with a competitive advantage, enabling the company to achieve the growth and profitability targets it has set out.
The role will focus on managing all aspects of purchasing, imports and logistics but also working closely with the sales and warehouse teams to ensure the procurement levels are in line with business demand and stock levels. As the Purchasing Manager you will understand the business and operational needs and act as a key team member.
As the successful Purchasing and Import Manager your duties will include:
- Purchasing of all products in line with regular inventory checks.
- Weekly forecasting and management of all import paperwork, customs declarations and other import certificates required.
- Seeking the support from the external imports consultant and liaising with the relevant third-parties.
- Working closely with the logistic companies to ensure weekly receipt of inbound deliveries.
- Manage and control stock through weekly and monthly stock counts.
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and team to understand product rotation, minimum and maximum stock levels and any potential changes to the purchasing levels.
- Supplier management and resolve any requests, product complaints or escalations.
- Driving the team forward by creating a clear, refined performance model and procurement goal.
- Providing ongoing training and support to existing team members by conducting monthly one-to one meetings and creating individual development plans.
- Identify areas for improvement and drive improvement initiatives.
- Producing weekly and monthly reports regarding stock levels on hand, stock rotation, stock management and wastage.
- Regularly update of inventory records with product cost prices, selling prices and margin maintenance.
Experience required:
- You will have proven and demonstrable experience of working in purchasing and procurement.
- Experience within importing goods and understanding customs procedures
- Good knowledge of strategic and operational procurement.
- Excellent stakeholder management.
- Strong communication skills with a confident telephone manner and the ability to build a quick rapport.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
