Team Leader

Role Responsibilities
1. Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks.
2. Attend team meetings and update members on best practices and continuing expectations.
3. To make sure behaviour of employees is in line with code of conduct and employee handbook procedures are followed.
4. To make sure everyone takes ownership of housekeeping with area of responsibility, ensure company 5S standards are always adhered to.
5. To ensure product quality standards are followed in line with company procedures to ensure conformance.
6. Ensure that all relevant documentation is completed in line with company procedures in particular: - Signing off time sheets, Updating of output boards and other KPI information where requested. Signing holiday forms and ensuring holidays are taken not compromising business needs. Report all absences and ensure Return to Work forms are completed on the day the employee returns to work.
7. Ensure that productivity/efficiency is maximised through effective utilisation of people and resources. Manage resources, ensuring stock in your area is effectively managed and controlled ensuring accurate levels are kept.
8. Identify training needs and requirements. Train members to required standard.
9. Monitor and manage performance.
10. Communicate objectives and KPI results.
11. Actively participate in all relevant lean projects and initiatives, e.g. maintain 5S standards and Kanban supply chains.
12. Be flexible towards responsibilities, ensuring you are able to support other functions outside of the daily role as required.
13. Comply with all H&S, Quality Management System and company procedures and proactively support process improvement.
Skills
· Knowledge of Company products, procedures and processes.
· Knowledge and appreciation of Quality assurance procedures.
· Previous experience gained in Production area / a factory environment.
· Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
· Good decision-making skills.
· Good problem-solving skills.
· Ability to adapt to and initiate/implement change.
· Maintains confidentiality when required.
· Understanding of Employee Handbook.
· Able to use Outlook, Epicor, Excel and Word and Texweb where applicable.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
