Grade: MPS – UPS (£28,000 - £43,685 per annum)
Hours: Full Time, Permanent
St Thomas More Primary School is an outstanding primary school serving the thriving Parish of Durham Martyrs. Applications are invited from practitioners who are practising Catholic or willing to support the ethos and practices of our Catholic school. They will have the highest expectations for all children with an understanding of how to ensure outstanding progress, whilst inspiring and engaging all children creatively in the learning process. They will be committed to developing our team and maintaining effective relationships within the parish and in our wider school community. They will be willing to participate fully in the curricular and co-curricular life of the school and aspire to excel professionally. This role is not suitable for an Early Qualified Teacher.

- Be passionate about teaching and learning and ensuring that every child reaches their potential.
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and achievements.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to working as part of a team.
- Play a full part in promoting the Catholic mission of our school.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working in school with children of primary school age
- Experience of using a range of effective teaching and learning styles.
- The ability to engage and motivate children to learn effectively
- The ability to communicate clearly in a range of contexts and contribute to team meetings
