Who we are:
Avove is a new, independent utilities infrastructure business, formed from the utilities division of leading infrastructure services company, Amey.
We design, build and maintain the UK’s utilities infrastructure to help transform local communities for the better.
We are proud to work in partnership with our clients, including Severn Trent, United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Scottish Water, Northern Powergrid and Scottish Power.
The Role:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all Arboricultural operations clearing vegetation from around the Northern Powergrid overhead electrical network. Specifically accountable for the safety, quality, and productivity of the Yorkshire License area.
Responsibilities:Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring operations are delivered within agreed planned volumes and time scales.
- Liaise daily with the planning team for seamless execution of works across all voltages.
- Ensuring planned operational procedures, safe working methods and best environmental practices are in place and adhered to.
- Oversee and control all audit functions, plant and equipment checks
- Ensure cutting compliance to contract specification and manage reactive work attendance
- Produce and own weekly internal and external performance reports.
- Manage local HR, disciplinary and incident investigation.
- Make recommendations on cost benefits, process improvement and innovation.
- Inspire and engage workforce and client.
- Attend management and client meetings
Skills & Experience:
- IOSH – managing safety
- Demonstrable managerial experience on arboriculture contracts
- Driving License
