SMARTech energy is celebrating its 9th year of trading and is looking to continue to grow by expanding the sales team.
We uniquely offer an end-to-end solution for B2B clients to reduce their energy consumption and carbon, from monitoring and consultancy to project management, installation and maintenance. We are typically saving clients 20-30% of their energy usage and are now looking to continue to expand with this exciting opportunity.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be an integral part of our sales & marketing team reporting directly to the Managing Director.
You will be required to source and win new clients who typically spend over £1m per annum on energy as well as receiving support from our marketing team.
You will be required to have knowledge and the ability to find clients who are looking to save money and/or carbon, identifying energy efficiency technology needs is desirable but not essential as you will be assisted by the energy consultancy team.
It is essential that you have the strong desire and the skill set to acquire new clients. The right candidate will have a great opportunity to develop their career both professionally and financially in a growing business, with the right candidate having the possibility of equity in the business once sustainable success has been proven.
The post holder will also be required to work with our Zoho business management system to book appointments, load on leads, create accounts, update opportunities, etc. and will also be required to use the telephone answering inbound calls.

- A minimum of 4 years selling energy reduction solutions including but not limited to monitoring, consultancy, renewables, flexible supply contract procurement services.
- A track record of securing new business deal sizes worth £150k pa+.
- Highly competent proposal writer.
- A very good understanding of energy and carbon markets.
- Proven new business track record of delivering in excess of £500k TCV of new business revenue consistently (evidence to be provided).
- Self-motivated individuals are comfortable in working independently with a demonstrable level of creativity and innovation.
- Capable of UK wide travel to meetings.
- Ability to consider, construct and develop sales relationships.
- Able to identify innovative sales strategies.

- Ensure any new clients are onboarded effectively, liaising with the various areas of the team to ensure a great customer experience.
- Manage and update the CRM database with accurate and timely information to enable effective pipeline management.
- Close & contract new business with commercial focus required.
- Drive forward new product innovations and new opportunities identified from liaising with prospects and new clients.
SMARTech energy are based in Chippenham. Approximately four miles from the M4, Junction 17.
